Coagulation-flocculation is a physico-chemical process used in water purification and wastewater treatment.

In the coagulation phase, the addition of metallic salts allows colloidal particles to agglomerate; in the flocculation phase, the addition of a flocculant (usually a polymer) triggers the agglomeration of colloidal particles.
