NEW AGITATORS FOR METHANIZATION TANKS
Sludge coming from waste water plants is full of methane. In order to reduce volume of sludge (30 to 40%) and to deodorize it, sludge is transformed inside a digestion or methanation tank. An agitator turns in this heated tank, separating methane from sludge. This methane is collected at the top of the tank and firstly used to heat tank. Then, digested sludge is dehydrated and used to fertilize agricultural soil. MIXEL has designed an agitator for equipping digestion or methanation tanks which is able to work in following operating conditions: - corrosive atmosphere - ATEX explosive area - Continuous working, 24 hours a day - Gaseous midair = biogas - 40 g per litre sludge - Pressure from 60 to 200 mbars - Temperature 38°C Answering to this difficult working environment, agitator designed by MIXEL has specific technical characteristics: - vertical agitator, with axial flow and double level of propellers (TTF profiled ones with converging edge to avoid aggregation of tows); - special guiding system (turret) for up to 20 metres agitation shaft; - hydraulic seal. MIXEL has equipped up to 5000 m³ digestion tanks, in France, Algeria and Morocco.
